Matt O'Neill     Head Varsity Baseball Coach - Stagg High School

Matt O'Neill is in his fifteenth year at Stagg High School. He has been the head varisty baseball coach since 2007. At Stagg, Matt taught math for nine years and has been the guidance counselor for the past 3 years. In 2002, he was the freshman baseball coach. From 2003 thru 2007, he was the sophomore baseball coach. Matt also coached basketball from 2001-2007.

Matt went to Saint Xavier University and pitched there for four years. He is the career leader in innings pitched and strikeouts. During his career at Saint Xavier, he was conference pitcher of the year in 1999 and Honorable Mention All-American 1999 & 2000.
As of this year, he is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame.

Matt currently resides in Orland Park with his wife Adrienne and their children


Frank DiFoggio    Head Varsity Baseball Coach - Shepard High School

Frank DiFoggio is in his 19th year at Shepard High School. He graduated high school from Richards in Oak Lawn, received his collegiate education at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and did his graduate work at St. Xavier and Governor’s State.

From 1994 thru 1997, Frank was the freshman baseball coach at Richards High School. In 1997 Frank became the varsity baseball coach at Shepard High School.

During his tenure, he has two regional championships and five 20 win seasons. He has coached 29 All-Area players and 1 pre-season All-State player.

In the last 13 years, he has had 2 ICA All-Stars, 2 IHSBCA All-Northern Illinois, and 52 College Scholarships.

Thirteen of Frank's former players are currently playing at the collegiate level and six players have signed D1 scholarships in last 7 years.

He has one former player playing at the pro level: Mike Recchia for the New York Yankees - Class A.

Frank is married to Crystal and has two kids.


George Fear - Baseball Coach - Sandburg High School

George Fear is currently in his 16th year as an English Teacher and Baseball Coach at Carl Sandburg High School. George has served as the Varsity Pitching/Assistant Coach for the Eagles since 2012. From 2008-2011, George coached the Freshman and Sophomore teams. He has coached several All-State and collegiate players during his tenure, and has been a part of several winning teams including a 4th place in state finish in 2018. George also gives private pitching and catching lessons and coaches a Palos Thunder team.

George played high school baseball at Marist, where he earned first team all ESCC and first team All area. He attended Millikin University where he majored in English/Secondary Education and played baseball for the Big Blue. During his Junior season, George broke the school record for single season hits and was named CCIW first team All-Conference and first team All-Region. During his Senior year, he was named the CCIW Merle Chapman award winner and was voted team MVP in 2006 and 2007.

He currently resides in Palos Heights with his wife Sheila and three kids.
