Pitching Limits

• Maximum 2 innings per day

• Maximum 6 innings per week

Failure to follow pitching limits will result in penalties as described in the Penalties section of the rulebook.

No Walk Rule

Walks are not allowed.

After 4 balls, the batting team’s coach will pitch up to 3 pitches.

• Batter must hit the ball in play or strike out

• Hit by coach pitch does NOT award first base

• Hit by coach pitch counts as one of the 3 pitches

Example:
If ball four occurs with two strikes, the batter still receives 3 coach pitches unless the third pitch is fouled off.

Coach Pitch Procedure

During coach pitching:

• The pitcher of record stays on the field

• Pitcher must stand with one foot in the dirt on the mound next to the rubber

• Pitcher cannot be substituted defensively

Coach must:

• Be in contact with the pitching rubber

• Throw overhand

• Move out of the way of batted balls

• Leave the field once the ball is put in play

Ball Hits Coach

If a batted ball hits the coach pitcher:

• The ball is dead

• Batter and all runners advance one base

Coach Pitch Flow

Pitcher pitches → Ball Four → Coach pitches (max 3 pitches) → Batter hits ball or strikes out → Play continues.
