PINTO – Pitchers shall not pitch more than two (2) innings in any one calendar day and may not pitch more than six (6) innings in any one calendar week.
- Walks will not be allowed. After 4 balls to a batter the batting team’s coach will pitch a maximum of 3 pitches and the hitter will either strikeout or hit the ball in play.
- The pitcher of record will field the pitcher position standing with at least one foot in the dirt on the mound and adjacent to the rubber on either side of the coach pitching.
- The coach pitching must get out of the way of a batted ball, and once the ball is put in play the coach must leave the field when possible.
- If the head coach or coach is hit by a batted ball the ball is dead and the hitter and each base runner will be awarded one base.
- A hit by a pitch from the coach does not award first base and counts against one of the 3 coach pitches.
- The coach must be in contact with the pitching rubber when pitching to the batter.
- The Coach must throw overhand.
- The pitcher cannot be substituted defensively with another player for the coach pitching process. The coach will throw up to 3 pitches regardless of the count on the hitter.
Example: if a batter walks with 2 strikes he will still get 3 pitches unless he fouls off 3rd pitch.
Note: Failure to adhere to the Pitching Restriction Rules will result in Penalties being applied as stated in our “Penalties” section of this Rulebook.
