2011 Field Days
The 2011 Field Days were held on March 26th and April 2nd this year. Over 100 people came to help prepare the fields for the 2011 PBO season. Here are just a few things we accomplished at the ball fields
- Clean debris on all fields including the batting cages and parking lot
- Aerate the infield and outfield
- Hang Sponsor Signs
- Pull all weeds in the warning tracks
- Add Infield Mix to all fields
- Setup North fields bleacher
- Setup batting cages
- Make walkway w/rail road ties on west side of cages
- Roll out, inspect, and reroll tarp
- Add grass seed & black dirt to old foul lines
- Replace home plate & check elevations
- Roll fields with heavy roller
- Sod cut mound and base lines
- Level the pinto infield
- Paint and clean bathrooms
- Create 2 bins for infield mix and dirt from railroad ties
- Cleanup the green monster
- Setup the concession stand
- Plus many other tasks needed to help get the fields ready
This also includes the renovation of the new North Field.
We would like to thank the trustees and especially Jim Lizzio for all their hard work and dedication to help make PBO a great place to play and watch baseball.
